Easy French Manicure!!

Many people have trouble doing a French Manicure/French tips. They can't get the line right, the tape's not working, they don't have the right tape and scotch tape doesn't work etc...

Here's a very easy way to do a french manicure (just the nail polish part...not the whole shabang!).

First you will need:
  1. Nail buffer/file
  2. White Nail polish.
  3. Light pink/ Pale pink Polish (OPI's ''isn't it romantic''/ China Glaze ''heaven'').
  4. Clear top coat.
  5. Nail Corrector Pen (Orly, Ms Manicure etc...)

You will want to shape and buff your nails, preferably shaped almost straight accross with rounded edges (more for safety as sharp edges can result in you giving yourself or others scrapes etc). Almost straight because if you file your nail too round the white part of your french manicure will look funny.

After shaping and buffing take the white nail polish (you'll understand why we have no base coat) draw a line/follow the edge of your nail from end to end (don't make it too thin...you'll see why). You can make the line as thick/thin as you want and it's ok if it's not totally even/smooth coming towards the middle of your nail.

Make sure the white part is as opaque as you can get it and not thin and sort of translucent.

Let that dry for a few minutes, and take the nail corrector pen (felt tip please) and start to carefully swipe or rub away the white polish bit by bit (the end that's coming towards your finger, obviously not the end of your nail) until it's the width you want and the line is totally smooth/even on the inside.

Use the nail corrector pen to rub away whatever polish got on your finger or at the side of your nail.

Now you can take your light/pale pink nail polish (I used China Glaze ''Heaven'' since my OPI is dried out) and paint one even and thin layer over the top of the nail. This gives it a slight sheen and a nice pink overlay. You can apply a second coat of it if you like once it has dried depending on how opaque/translucent you would like it to be.

Let it all dry completely then apply a clear top coat. I used Sally Hansen's Super Shine Shiny Top Coat.

VOILA!!

Here are some pictures...and please ignore my cuticles:

Ignore the cuticles... :D

The finished product

Although blurry, just showing you that my hands aren't as scary as the other pictures make it seem PLUS the polish looks nice

Hope it helps and works for you :)
