Newspaper Nails!! :)

Just wanted to share with you all something i saw the other day. Not many people would come across it so here it is!!
NEWSPAPER NAILS!!

I didn't have enough white nail polish, so i used lilac (Orly's Dance Til Dawn)...any pastel colour should do if you want to move away from the norm.
Keep in mind, I rushed them down so they may not look very neat and some might be kind of smushed because i'm rather impatient. :D

What you need:
White nail polish.
Newspaper (cut into pieces so it's easier to cover your nail).
Rubbing Alcohol/Vodka.
Top Coat.

  1. First, apply 2 coats of white nail polish (or pastel coloured).
  2. Let it dry COMPLETELY!!! (This required tonsss of patience from me :( ).
  3. When totally dried, in a cup (any small vessel deep enough to stick your whole finger in) pour some rubbing alcohol or vodka in it.
  4. Stick one finger in and make sure the nail is totally submerged in the rubbing alcohol.
  5. Leave it for about 6 or 7 seconds to soak a little then quickly (since rubbing alcohol evaporates like mad!) press the piece of newspaper onto the nail.
  6. Make sure NOT TO MOVE IT or else it will smudge the letters (like it did on one of my nails).
  7. You can, while pressing down, take a cotton ball with some rubbing alcohol on it and coat the back of the paper too.
  8. Peel the newspaper off your nail slowly (because i had no patience i moved it and it smudged and i didn't really press down at the sides so some of the sides of my nails didn't get letters on them).
  9. Do the same for each nail.
  10. Let nails dry COMPLETELY and then apply the top coat.
  11. If you do not let your nails dry completely after applying the letters (which will be backward just btw but noone will notice that) upon applying the top coat the letters will smudge like it did on my index finger :(

VOILA!! NEWSPAPER NAILS!!

I didn't press down on the tip of my nail so some letters didn't come out.
